On Slip Rigs and Spiritual Growth
Poems by Timothy Tarkelly
On Slip Rigs and Spiritual Growth examines the ancient, often meditative art of fishing. These poems sit on the banks of the Pecos, they wade into the Gasconade, and they almost drown in the Atlantic. They conjure sun-drenched memories of first catches and imagine fishing trips with the the world's greatest anglers -- living and the dead. They ask how close can one live to the land and do their best to come up with an answer.
